Job summary

TotalEnergies’ Cray Valley is seeking a QC Chemist to maintain the Grand Junction Plant Quality Control Laboratory and ensure products meet quality requirements. The role covers testing of raw material, in-process and final product samples across three units and tolled materials, with documentation and continuous improvement in QC processes.

  • Bachelor degree in Science or science coursework with laboratory experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily control sampling to ensure instrument accuracy.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on analytical instruments.
  • Test incoming in-process and final products against specifications.
  • Troubleshoot instruments and methods.
  • Provide laboratory testing support for process trials and investigations.
  • Order laboratory supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Develop, maintain and document analytical methods.
  • Monitor trends in QC data and notify management of abnormalities.
  • Maintain laboratory schedule to ensure QC coverage.
  • Ensure data is available to not delay shipping paperwork.

The QC Chemist is responsible for maintaining the Quality Control Laboratory at the Grand Junction Plant and ensuring products meet customer quality requirements through comprehensive quality control activities for three operating units and tolled materials, including raw material, in-process, and final product testing, review and validation of approximately 200 analytical procedures and methods, and regular monitoring, trending, and reporting of QC data to support product quality and continuous improvement.

Activités
  • Perform daily control sampling to ensure instrument accuracy
  • Perform typical preventative maintenance on analytical instruments
  • Test incoming in-process and final products against different specifications
  • Troubleshoot instruments and methods
  • Provide laboratory testing support for process trials, NCR/CCAR investigation and special projects
  • Order laboratory supplies and maintain inventory
  • Schedule and coordinate vendor instrument services
  • Develop, maintain and document analytical methods
  • Monitor trends in production QC data and proactively notify management of abnormalities or changes against historical norms
  • Maintain laboratory schedule to ensure QC chemist coverage
  • Ensure data is available to not delay shipping paperwork
  • Laboratory requirements
  • Works with hazardous products and laboratory chemicals (flammable, corrosive, reactive)
  • Work closely with Production
  • Interact with TCV Tolling department
  • Expected to work independently with little supervision

Qualifications/Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Science or
  • College Course Work in science with laboratory experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Laboratory experience preferred
