Job summary

Gulf Island LLC is hiring a Quality Assurance Traceability Specialist in Houma, LA to collect, verify, and archive all traceability documentation for fabrication projects. You will ensure contract requirements are met and interact with customer inspectors to resolve discrepancies.

The role requires 3+ years in quality assurance traceability, the ability to read structural drawings and welding symbols, and proficiency with QMS and MS Office. Office-based with some site-related data handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in quality assurance traceability.
• Ability to read/interpet structural and fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of material identification and traceability requirements.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection and documentation control.

Responsibilities

• Review job specifications to determine traceability requirements for materials, NDE, hydro testing, and stress relieving.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, isometrics, welding symbols, and fabrication specs.
• Review customer drawings, sketches, cut lists to determine entries for traceability databases.
• Enter and file mill certificate information to ensure materials meet specs.
• Maintain databases for verification and traceability; troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Interact with customer inspectors to resolve traceability issues.
• Assemble final project data books for customers and QC archive.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
