Job summary

George’s is a longstanding producer of high-quality chicken products in the United States. We are seeking a QA Technician to uphold quality requirements across ingredients, production, and packaging.

The role involves evaluating samples, calibrating instruments, verifying GMP/HAACP compliance, maintaining records, and communicating findings to prevent nonconforming products. Equal opportunity employer; on-site in Missouri, Cassville.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3rd party Food Safety Audits.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver and perform evaluations of samples.
• Assist with the monitoring of antimicrobial levels to comply with HACCP/SSOP/SPS programs.
• Assure monitoring instruments (thermometers, etc.) are accurately calibrated.
• Provide verification in areas of receiving, storage, packaging, GMPs, net weights, labeling, and quality characteristics.
• Verification may include additional monitoring as a verification step.
• Maintain records and data entry of quality-related information.
• Effectively communicate inspection findings and observations.
• Suspend production upon discovery of insanitary conditions or nonconformity.
• Retain product that does not meet USDA, George’s, or customer requirements.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The QA Technician is responsible for driving sustainable growth by maintaining quality requirements according to company policies, customers, industry, and regulatory specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maneuver and perform evaluations of samples.
• Assist with the monitoring of antimicrobial levels throughout production areas to withstand compliance with Safety and Suitable Support facility Food Safety/Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP’s), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS) via monitoring and verifying.
• Assure monitoring instruments, i.e., thermometers, etc. are accurately calibrated.
• Provide verification services in the areas of receiving, storage of ingredients, packaging and raw materials, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), net weights, proper labeling, quality characteristics.
• Verification may include additional monitoring as a verification step.
• Maintain records, processes, procedures including responsibility for data entry of specific quality-related information.
• Effectively communicate inspection findings and observations.
• Suspend production upon discovery of improper insanitary conditions, out of control, or if positive control in question.
• Retain product that does not conform to USDA, George’s, or customer requirements.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required None

Preferred Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Understanding/knowledge of HAACP principles. Experience with 3rd party Food Safety Audits.
