Job summary

Salm Partners, located in Denmark, WI, is seeking a Food Safety Representative to perform inspections, sanitation checks, and QA record keeping across production areas in accordance with SQF, GMP and USDA-FSIS requirements.

The role is based at 590 Woodrow Street, Denmark, WI, with early morning shifts. It requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment while collaborating with USDA representatives.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalency is normally required. An Associate's degree in Quality or related field is preferred.
• Previous Quality experience in a USDA-FSIS regulated food manufacturing environment preferred; if non-degreed, at least 6 months experience as a production line worker with backup QA experience.
• Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and with changing environmental conditions, including heat, cold and wet.

Responsibilities

• Comply with SQF and USDA regulatory issues and act as Food Safety Representative.
• Conduct pre-op sanitation inspections and write corrective actions.
• Perform SSOP inspections twice per shift and file forms.
• Communicate daily with the USDA representative and address issues.
• Review Certificates of Analysis for all received raw goods.
• Assist with brine setup and hourly log tracking.
• Ensure HACCP compliance through various checks and tests.
• Collect product samples for testing and complete submission forms.
• Maintain metal detector rejection and leaker logs.
• Calibrate test equipment and verify measurement accuracy.
• Monitor cooler temperatures daily.
• Collect pathogen swabs and water samples as needed.
• Record in-process cook/chill data and export for analysis.
• Maintain Reprocessed Product Logs and related documentation.
• Handle Hold notifications and QA Hold decisions.
• Participate in organoleptics for shelf-life and formulation assessments.
• Ensure GMP compliance and follow lockout/tag-out procedures.
• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and perform other duties.
