Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician 2 in Livermore, CA. The role inspects materials and finished goods using microscopes and precision tools to ensure conformance with specifications and customer requirements.

You will document results, support root-cause investigations, and participate in continuous quality improvements across engineering and operations. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, with proficiency in data entry, reporting, and using inspection

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience; operative roles may handle more complex machinery.
  • Experience with in-process and finished goods inspections is preferred.
  • Familiarity with defect investigations and corrective actions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Olympus MX-50 microscopes and other precision inspection tools to perform defect inspections on advanced probing technology products.
  • Conduct in-process and finished goods inspections to ensure materials and products meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Identify, document, and generate reports for nonconforming materials or products.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to investigate root causes and support corrective actions.
  • Validate outgoing product data for accuracy and compliance with customer specifications, update inspection results and inventory records in quality systems.
  • Capture and document inspection images for analysis, traceability, and reporting.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
  • Use hand tools to assemble, inspect, and adjust mechanical assemblies as required.
  • Work collaboratively within a shift-based team environment, while also performing as an individual contributor to meet daily inspection and production targets.
  • Support operations and engineering activities as needed to meet quality and delivery commitments.

Shift: The regular hours for this position are Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday from 6:00am to 6:15pm.

The Quality Assurance Technician 2 is responsible for performing detailed in-process and finished goods inspections to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer specifications. This role applies advanced inspection techniques, supports defect investigations, and partners closely with Engineering and Operations to maintain product quality in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The position operates with moderate autonomy and contributes to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience: Minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience. Operative/Technician roles will typically operate more complex machinery/processes.

Required Pay Range: $22.10 - $29.03Pay Range Explained: This role in Livermore, California pays between $22.10 and $29.03 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations.
