Summary Statement: At the direction of the Q.A. manager, the position monitors and assures compliance with existing programs implemented. It also monitors and controls operational formulation and Quality Control standards developed by the company or required by regulatory agencies.
General Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities at line operations and laboratory levels.
- Monitor and document all production line Q.C. activities as directed by the Q.A. manager. Report deviations immediately to Operations and Q.A. manager.
- Maintain and report raw material deviations to material standards.
- Conduct various types of quality assurance inspections, including visual, organoleptic, and chemical tests.
- Report deviations, inconsistencies, and discrepancies to QA Manager. Identify quality issues to line supervisors and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure corporate GMPs are updated and followed, complying with all corporate and governmental standards.
- Ensure sanitation standards are met and in compliance with standards.
- Train new and existing employees on GMPs affecting plant sanitation and product integrity.
- Perform lab testing on products, raw materials, and equipment as required to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage and train QC Technicians to monitor and document Quality Control procedures in accordance with company and government requirements.
- Perform quality audits under the direction of Q.A. manager to ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
Position Requirements: Some experience in Q.C. or related functions is required. Operations experience is a plus.
