Job summary

Horseshoe Beverage Co. is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to analyze finished and semi-finished products and support training on SOPs. The role includes holding non-conforming products, developing corrective actions, and conducting routine QC inspections in a beverage manufacturing setting.

The candidate will perform environmental monitoring, maintain GMPs, and assist with validations, with a focus on delivering safe, high-quality products to customers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing on finished and semi-finished products.
• Conduct plating for indicator organisms.
• Execute environmental monitoring and swabbing.
• Maintain Good Laboratory Practices including calibration and verification.
• Inspect can seams and bottle closures.
• Update and maintain laboratory procedures.
• Assist with validations and verifications including sampling.
• Support R&D testing including shelf-life studies.
• Maintain plant sensory program.
• Support quality and food safety management and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Issue production holds for out-of-spec products.
• Train operations personnel on monitoring procedures.
• Prescribe corrective actions for non-conformities.
• Assist with internal audits and inspections.
• Help with investigations of consumer/customer complaints.
• Identify and manage food safety/quality failures on shift.

Position Overview

will perform analysis and testing of product to ensure that it meets all necessary food and beverage quality standards. They will work with production to assist with training on standard operator procedures. They will place products on hold that are outside of the quality specifications; assist with developing corrective action to release product and assist with regular inspections and quality control audit programs.

Responsibilities

• Analytical Perform routine analytical testing on finished and semi-finished products.
• Perform routine plating for indicator organisms.
• Execute environmental monitoring and swabbing program.
• Maintain Good Laboratory Practices program including method monitoring, equipment calibration and verification activities.
• Perform routine can seam and bottle closure inspections.
• Update and maintain laboratory procedures.
• Execute and assist with validations and verifications including sample collection.
• Assist with R & D testing including shelf-life studies.
• Maintain plant sensory program.
• Quality and Food Safety Management Maintain facility glass and hard plastics inspection program.
• Ensure completion of daily positive release verification activities and release pending product.
• Collaborate with operations to create and maintain standard operating procedures and appropriate corrective action for non-conformances.
• Issue production holds for product produced outside of specification.
• Assist with training operations personnel on monitoring procedures, food safety and quality system requirements.
• Prescribe correction and corrective actions for non-conformities discovered on shift.
• Assist with maintenance of the facility inspection and internal audit program.
• Assist with consumer and customer complaint investigations.
• Assist with investigating and managing food safety and quality related failures on shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand

• Previous experience with food manufacturing in the quality function preferred.
• Self-directed and personally motivated.
