Job summary

Garden of Light Inc DBA Uncle Crumbles is seeking a QA Technician for second shift in East Hartford, CT. You will conduct quality checks, verify product and packaging specifications, and document results to uphold food-safety standards in a natural bakery environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2 years of QA or food processing experience; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 2:15pm to 12:45am with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years QA or Food Processing experience.
• Bilingual English & Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining overall food safety, quality, and product security within the facility.
• Conduct testing on incoming raw materials to verify compliance with specifications.
• Perform in-line testing of in-process and finished products, approving or rejecting as necessary.
• Clearly document all testing results and approvals.
• Effectively communicate with production managers, team leaders, operators and team members when product is out of specification and what needs to be corrected.
• Learn and follow GMP, SOPs, Safety Procedures, and Quality Testing protocols relevant to the area.
• Maintain area cleanliness by ensuring workspaces are cleaned daily and trash is removed.
• Support product safety by ensuring compliance with GMP and HACCP plans; collect and record CCPs and QCPs.

Every day, success-minded customers who value their time, great flavor and health can enjoy a wide variety of our products through numerous channels.## Qualifications**Position Summary & Key Areas of Ownership**Responsible for conducting various quality checks to verify product and packaging specifications, as well as sanitation standards, in a natural food bakery. Also assist in maintaining exceptional quality standards. This position is Monday through Thursday, 2:15pm to 12:45am with overtime as needed.**Core Responsibilities*** Assist in maintaining overall food safety, quality, and product security within the facility.* Ensure adherence to all procedures required to uphold high standards of quality and food safety, including conducting and documenting appropriate tests.* Conduct testing on incoming raw materials to verify compliance with specifications. Perform in-line testing of in-process and finished products, approving or rejecting as necessary. Clearly and legibly document all testing results and approvals.* Effectively communicate with production managers, team leaders, operators and team members when product is out of specification and what needs to be corrected. This includes placing out of specification items on hold and ensuring that quality issues are corrected.* Learn and follow Basic Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Hygiene Requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Procedures, and Quality Testing and Documentation protocols relevant to the assigned work area.* Maintain area cleanliness by ensuring all workspaces are cleaned daily and that trash is promptly removed.* Support product safety by ensuring compliance with Bakery On Main’s GMP and HACCP plans. Collect and record data for Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Quality Control Points (QCPs), ensuring all are appropriately verified and signed off. Promptly report any issues that may compromise product safety, quality, or security to Management.* BACK UP: Director of Quality, Quality and Safety Manager, Assistant Quality Manager**Skills and Requirements*** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work independently and as a team player. The right candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in all aspects of the position and be available for overtime as needed.* EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years QA or Food Processing experience.
