Job summary

FinteqHub is seeking a QA Tech Lead to shape testing across engineering teams. You will lead the migration of API tests from Java to Go and Gonkey, develop QA practices, and drive test strategy across teams.

Based in the Payment Integrations team, you will mentor engineers and expand UI test automation, with a remote-friendly, globally distributed setup. Strong English and Russian language skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Senior or Lead-level experience in test automation, with a strong focus on API testing.
• Built a test strategy and test pyramid from scratch in more than one product.
• Track record of changing testing practices across several teams.
• Strong test design skills: derive coverage from requirements and specs.
• System-level understanding of product, not just framework.
• Know where unit tests suffice and where e2e is needed.
• Ability to align teams and drive decisions without formal authority.
• Mentoring experience in QA.
• Experience with multiple languages/frameworks; capable of picking up new tools quickly.
• Read Java well enough to audit and migrate an existing test suite.
• Solid understanding of REST/HTTP, JSON and API contract testing.
• Hands-on with k8s, Docker, PostgreSQL and message brokers.
• Experience with CI pipelines and debugging across services.

Responsibilities

• Audit the legacy Java API test suite and decide what to keep or retire.
• Oversee AI-assisted migration of tests to Go and Gonkey.
• Close coverage gaps in line with the test pyramid for high-risk scenarios.
• Help teams define and document their own test strategies and pyramids.
• Advise leads and engineers on testing decisions with risk/cost view.
• Own regression: plan runs, distribute checks, and maintain flaky test health.
• Lead cross-team defect investigations and reproduce issues.
• Set shared QA standards and tooling (ReportPortal, TMS, test reports).
• Bring AI into daily QA work for test generation and migration.
• Run biweekly QA syncs and mentor engineers to advance automation.
• Expand UI test automation in future stages.
