Job summary

dfa is seeking a QA Tech for a part-time, floating shift in Grand Rapids, MI. You will perform microbiological and chemical testing, handle sample prep, and contribute to quality programs.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with associates or bachelor’s in a related field preferred. Experience in food/beverage is a plus; must pass pre-employment screens and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred; biology helpful.
• Ability to perform basic math and unit conversions.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Must pass pre-employment screens.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological and chemical testing of products and materials.
• Maintain documentation and records accurately.
• Obtain and maintain State certification for antibiotic testing.
• Follow GMPs and SQF requirements; ensure food safety.
• Communicate issues to management and other departments promptly.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain a safe work area.
• Follow PPE protocols and safety procedures.
• Assist with process improvement opportunities.
