Job summary

Bazooka Brands in Moosic, PA is seeking a Quality Assurance Line Specialist to uphold Food Safety and Quality across the production line. You will review the HACCP plan, enforce GMPs, conduct tests, and coach staff to strengthen our safety culture.

You will partner with shift supervisors, manage QA records, support corrective actions, and perform internal audits while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years minimum in a production environment.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred (1 year).
• PCQI certification and SQF Practitioner preferred.
• HACCP knowledge required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Basic statistical skills preferred.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Team player able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and good written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure compliance to the factory Food Safety Plan (HACCP).
• Partner with shift supervisors and plant management to promote Food Safety/Quality culture and coaching.
• Ensure compliance to SOPs, WI, documentation, and retention.
• Enforce GMP compliance through coaching for production staff and contractors.
• Conduct Food Safety and Quality testing (e.g., swabbing, metal detector checks).
• Initiate, investigate, and follow through on corrective actions; track non-conformances.
• Investigate consumer complaints; conduct internal factory inspections/audits.
• Manage QA records including environmental sampling and pest control programs.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

Quality Assurance Line Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure compliance to the factory Food Safety Plan (HACCP)
• Partner with shift supervisors and plant management to promote Food Safety/Quality Culture and enhance Food Safety awareness through daily coaching and scheduled training
• Ensure compliance to all company policies & procedures pertaining to Food Safety and Quality

including but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation & Housekeeping, Equipment & Facility Maintenance, etc.

Enforce GMP compliance through coaching and other appropriate means for:

Production supervisors, factory employees, contractors and visitors

• Ensure compliance to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) including proper documentation (completion, control, and retention)
• Conduct Food Safety and Quality testing as necessary- for example, but not limited to, swabbing, metal detector challenges
• Initiate, investigate, communicate, and follow-through on corrective actions for non-compliances. Maintain a corrective action tracking system to ensure non-compliances are resolved in a timely manner
• Investigate consumer complaints
• Conduct internal factory inspections-such as GMP, Food Safety, and Quality system audits
• Manage QA records including but not limited to environmental sampling program, pest control program for the factory
• Other responsibilities as needed

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree, or equivalent work experience - 2 years minimum in a production environment
• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment-1 year minimum
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification and SQF Practitioner preferred
• Knowledge of HACCP required
• Demonstrates sound technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Basic statistical skills preferred
• Proven, reliable self-starter, able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
