Job summary

Bellisio Food in Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented materials inspector to verify incoming raw materials meet specifications. You will record information in USDA Meat Log for meat items and pull samples for evaluation, while maintaining audit records and COA matching.

Collaborating with warehouse staff and QA management, you will conduct weekly raw material cutting, document audit results, and ensure proper communication across departments before approving or rejecting materials.

Qualifications

• Experience in material inspection and quality checks preferred.
• Familiarity with COA/COA books and audit documentation helpful.
• Ability to communicate across warehouse, QA, Purchasing and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all incoming raw materials to confirm requirements are met and complete Incoming Inspection Report.
• Record information for meat items in USDA Meat Log.
• Pull small samples for new supplier lot numbers and large samples for audits in the specification.
• Reject or hold raw materials that do not meet specifications.
• Conduct weekly Raw Material Cutting and match COA's to delivered products.
• Send audit results to R&D Director, Purchasing and QA Management.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors and communicate with all departments.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect all incoming raw materials to confirm all requirements are met and complete Incoming Inspection Report, record information for meat items in USDA Meat Log.
• Pull a small sample of any new supplier lot numbers for evaluation and a large sample of any product with a size or weight requirement in the specification for an audit.
• If raw material does not meet specification requirements, reject product or place on hold.
• Use large sample pulled to perform an audit, record the information on the correct audit form and send out results to R&D Director, Purchasing and QA Management.
• Conduct a Raw Material Cutting weekly.
• Match COA's received prior to product delivery to any product delivered daily and record in COA Books.
• You spend a large part of your time working with Warehouse Employees and Supervisors. You must have the ability to communicate with all departments and/or Senior Management.
• You must have the patience to gather information, listen and check before making judgments.
