- Develops or recommends development of procedures, techniques, and process controls to ensure products meet established specifications and objectives.
- Assist SQF Practitioner in verification and validation of the SQF system and pre-requisite programs.
- Assist in QA investigations related to customer complaints where applicable.
- Verify monitoring of CCPs according to the HACCP Plan.
- Supervise shift activities, including training personnel across all shifts as necessary.
- Be a member of the Food Safety Team.
- Monitor weekly lab equipment testing, calibration, and maintenance activities.
- Manage lab inventory control and order reagents and equipment within budget constraints.
- Maintain SDS records, hold, and complaint files for proper documentation and communication.
- Perform production supervisor functions and cover the position when needed.
- Coordinate quality meetings with raw and packaging material suppliers for continuous improvement.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Conduct monthly audits of HACCP, GMP, and lab documentation.
- Assist with new product and packaging trials during shifts.
- Contribute to special projects assigned by the QA Manager.
Education, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of three to five years of related experience.
- HACCP and PCQI certifications (required).
- SQF Practitioner and Better Process Control Certificate (preferred).
- Knowledge of quality control standards, specifications, and procedures; experience with SQF code is helpful.
- General maintenance and troubleshooting skills for lab equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate through a manufacturing environment.
- Minimal travel requirements of less than 10%.
