Description Of Work
UNL has an opportunity for qualified candidates to apply for a QA/QI Coordinator position within the Office of Research Compliance, Integrity, and Security at one of three levels: QA/QI Coordinator I, II, or III.
The QA/QI Coordinator performs functions related to audit, oversight, guidance, and direction of RCS areas, processes, and policies, with a particular focus on ensuring QA/QI in research protocols. The primary focus of this position is applying policies and regulations to provide expert advice and training to university administrators and employees on matters relating to QA/QI of research and preventing non-compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to RCS areas. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
QA/QI Coordinator I
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (anticipated 2025 spring graduates considered) and 1 year of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making skills, planning, and organizational skills.
- Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
- Prior experience with policy and procedure interpretation and implementation.
QA/QI Coordinator II
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 2 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered.
- Experience with research practices and understanding of grants and contracts.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making skills, planning, and organizational skills.
- Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.
- Prior experience with policy and procedure interpretation and implementation.
- Understanding of QA/QI review process, quality improvement practices and tools, and report writing experience.
QA/QI Coordinator III
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 4 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; equivalent education/experience considered.
- Experience with research practices, understanding of grants and contracts, and conduct/monitoring of research in a clinical or regulatory environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making skills, planning, and organizational skills.
- Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment, lead QA/QI review process, and independently write QA/QI reports.
- CRA experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
QA/QI Coordinator I
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- Human subjects research experience, research lab experience, and understanding of research practices, grants, and research monitoring.
- Prior QA/QI review experience, quality improvement practices and tools, report writing, and preferred CITI training or CRA certification.
QA/QI Coordinator II
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Human subjects research, research lab experience, prior QA/QI review, and familiarity with quality practices and tools.
- Preferred CITI training or CRA certification.
QA/QI Coordinator III
- Master’s degree in a STEM field and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in research practices, supervising, and human subjects research.
- Preferred CITI training.
