Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Quality Control Inspector to plan, perform and supervise QA activities on complex projects in California. You will conduct inspections, ensure compliance with ASME B31 piping codes, and lead QA processes across multiple sites including semiconductor construction environments.

The role requires 8+ years of QC experience, 3+ years in leadership, and current AWS QC1 certification. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience.
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field
• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high‑purity piping systems
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as PP and PVC
• Experience supporting data centre, mission‑critical, or semiconductor construction projects

Responsibilities

• Document data from QA activities per company policies.
• Communicate significant issues and propose process improvements to management.
• Prepare reports communicating QA involvement and results.

• Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analysing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Engage with the General Contractor's Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits.
• Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors.
• Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines.
• Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Rate: 70/hour

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience supporting:
  • ASME B31 piping codes
  • Industrial or commercial construction projects (semiconductor preferred)
  • Fabrication and welding inspections
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), maintained in good standing.
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as:
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
• Other specialty process piping materials * Experience supporting data centre, mission‑critical, or semiconductor construction projects
• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high‑purity process piping systems
