Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a QA/QC Field Supervisor to supervise field inspection personnel across projects and fabrication facilities. This field-based role ensures proper inspection coverage, adherence to codes, and enforcement of quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of QC inspection, 3+ years of supervision, AWS QC1/CWI certification, experience with PP piping, NDT, and semiconductor/cleanroom sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• Current AWS QC1/CWI certification in good standing.
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping such as PP.
• Experience on semiconductor, high-purity, or cleanroom project sites.
• GC or Subcontractor background (not owner QA or 3rd party).
• Experience with ASME B31.9 & B31.3 piping codes.
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT).

Job description

PR: $70-80/hr (Roughly 10-15 hours of OT per week)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The QA/QC Field Supervisor provides direct supervision of the QA/QC inspection personnel working across the projects and fabrication facilities in an assigned area. This is a field-based position: the work is done alongside the inspectors, on the projects, not from an office.

The position owns inspection coverage for the area - who is assigned where, whether the coverage matches the work, and whether the record produced will stand up. It sets expectations for inspection practice, develops the inspectors, and carries the quality authority to stop nonconforming work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Haven't interviewed or applied to client within the last 12 months
• 8+ years of total Quality Control Inspection experience supporting:
  • ASME B31.9 & B31.3 piping codes
  • Industrial or commercial construction projects (semiconductor preferred)
  • Fabrication and welding inspections
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• 3+ years of Supervisor/Managerial experience in related field
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), maintained in good standing.
• Experience inspecting specialty welding applications and plastic piping systems such as:
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Other specialty process piping materials
• Come from the GC or Subcontractor side (not owner QA or 3rd party experience)
• Experience working on semiconductor, high-purity, or cleanroom project sites

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience inspecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-purity process piping systems
• OSHA 30, confined space, and first aid / CPR
