Job summary

Process in Houston seeks a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist. You will split time between QA and QC, maintaining SOPs and documentation while supporting audits and CAPA. You will help maintain ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications within a PSM-regulated site.

QC duties include FTIR, GPC, GC, AA testing, and COA preparation. The role is on-site in Baytown, requires 3+ years in a chemistry lab or quality role, and offers growth across Laboratory, HSEQ, or Technical Service paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (ChemE).
• 3+ years in a lab or quality role in a chemical plant.
• ISO 9001 experience preferred; willingness to pursue Lead Auditor certification (9001/14001/45001).
• Comfortable with lab bench work and quality systems/documentation.

Job description

We're working with a chemical manufacturer in Houston to find a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist to join their PSM-regulated site.

This is split roughly 60% QA and 40% QC, reporting directly to the HSEQ Director. You'll support both the quality management system and the quality control lab.

On the QA side, this means maintaining SOPs and controlled documentation, supporting internal and external audits, leading root cause investigations and CAPA, and helping to maintain their ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications. Ideally you will have Lead Auditor certification(s) but, if not, the team will get you certified very quickly after joining.

On the QC side, you'll run finished product and raw material testing (FTIR, GPC, GC, AA, and similar), prepare COAs, and support calibration and lab recordkeeping.

This business is seeing increasing demand and looking to expand their operations across the US, with genuine progression and multiple routes on offer across Laboratory, HSEQ, or Technical Service disciplines.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree, ideally Chemistry or ChemE, but open to others
• 3+ years in a lab or quality role in a chemical plant, 3-7 years is ideal.
• ISO 9001 experience is preferred; willingness to pursue Lead Auditor certification (9001/14001/45001) required.
• Comfortable working across both lab bench work and quality systems/documentation
• Able to work on-site in Baytown 5 days per week.

Compensation is $80-100k, with some flex dependant on experience.
