Job summary

BK Mechanical is seeking an individual to support our QA/QC team in an on-site, construction-focused role. You will develop quality records, maintain document storage, and compile QA/QC data for management review.

The ideal candidate will read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings, perform tasks independently, and ensure traceability of construction documents while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills and attention to detail required.
• Minimum 3 years field experience with ability to read/interpret mechanical, structural & isometric drawings.
• Ability to plan, perform work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, prioritization and multitasking.
• Experience with QA/QC processes and codes (ASME, AWS, AWWA).
• Data management, collection and reporting responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience on construction sites with Welding, HVAC, Plumbing QC tasks.
• Knowledge of welding, pressure testing, coatings and torquing.
• Ability to process paperwork for material testing/inspection (NDE, Insulation, Ducting).
• Onsite field location work required.

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for someone to support our QA/QC team. The ideal candidate will perform critical tasks. We will rely heavily on this person to maintain strict confidentiality and possess strong attention to detail skills and have desire to do non routine tasks.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver quality record development (hydro forms/civil forms etc.) for review and retention
• Maintain effective information storage systems to enable easy retrieval of QA/QC documents and data
• Support regular compilation and reporting of quality related QA/QC data for management reporting and review
• Maintenance of all records demonstrating full traceability of changes to construction documents
• Inputting data into software programs, and compiling data books for final turnover to clients
• Must be able to work independently while demonstrating strong qualities and integrity

What you’ll need (minimum qualifications):

• Strong computer application skills
• Minimum 3 years and above field experience with ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural & isometric drawings.
• Plan and perform work activities independently
• Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Experience working with quality management systems involving ASME, AWS and AWWA mechanical codes.
• Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in Quality Control activities on assigned projects at construction sites performing Welding, HVAC, Plumbing services.
• Knowledge pertaining to welding (pipe, structural), pressure testing (pneumatic, hydrostatic), coating (paint, plating) and torquing (bolts, flanges, valves)
• Process paperwork regarding material testing/inspection and QA/QC for NDE, Insulation, Ducting services.
• Working onsite at field locations

Good to have:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Aptitude to learn new systems
• Ability to train staff on necessary operations
• Certification or extensive experience as a CWI, API, AI or NDE inspector.
