Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a QA/QC support professional to assist our established team with documentation and records control on construction projects.

You’ll develop quality records (hydro forms, civil forms), maintain organized data storage, and compile QA/QC data for management reviews. The role requires attention to detail, independence, and familiarity with field welding, piping, and coatings processes.

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer skills and ability to use data management systems.
• At least 3 years of field experience reading mechanical, structural and isometric drawings.
• Plan and perform work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, prioritization and planning.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
• Experience with quality management systems ASME, AWS, and AWWA.
• Proficient in data management, collection and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in QC on construction sites for Welding, HVAC, Plumbing.
• Knowledge of welding, pressure testing, coating, and torquing.
• Document material testing/inspection and QA/QC for NDE, Insulation, Ducting.
• Onsite field locations work.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone to support our QA/QC team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will perform critical tasks. We will rely heavily on this person to maintain strict confidentiality and possess strong attention to detail skills and have desire to do non routine tasks.

What You’ll Do:

What you’ll need (minimum qualifications):

• Strong computer application skills
• Minimum 3 years and above field experience with ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural & isometric drawings.
• Plan and perform work activities independently
• Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Experience working with quality management systems involving ASME, AWS and AWWA mechanical codes.
• Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in Quality Control activities on assigned projects at construction sites performing Welding, HVAC, Plumbing services.
• Knowledge pertaining to welding (pipe, structural), pressure testing (pneumatic, hydrostatic), coating (paint, plating) and torquing (bolts, flanges, valves)
• Process paperwork regarding material testing/inspection and QA/QC for NDE, Insulation, Ducting services.
• Working onsite at field locations

Good to have:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Aptitude to learn new systems
• Ability to train staff on necessary operations
• Certification or extensive experience as a CWI, API, AI or NDE inspector.
