Job summary

Manhattan Construction Group is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality activities on large commercial construction projects. You will develop QA/QC plans, manage BIM360, and coordinate with the project team to ensure build quality and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and a track record of overseeing major projects. Competitive compensation and strong benefits accompany this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct quality activities on projects.

  • Develop & maintain QC documents (checklists, site observation reports, issues log).
  • Coordinate QA/QC requirements and reporting.
  • Assist in management of permits and change orders.
  • Attend project meetings and record minutes.

POSITIONSUMMARY:

The QA/QC Manager leads and directs project quality activitiesunder the leadership and guidance of the Manhattan Site Quality & Commissioning Manager. The QA/QC Manager assists and supports the ManhattanProject Team, including the Project Manager, Superintendent, and ProjectEngineer. The QA/QC Manager is a flexible and adaptable team player with strongcommunication and client service skills. The goal of the QA/QC Manager is todeliver a reliable, repeatable, and maintainable project that adheres to allaspects of the design.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate commitmentto an Injury-free environment through actions and mentoring
  • Participate in Submittalreview and comment
  • Conduct Schedule reviewand comment
  • Develop project specificQA / QC Plans
  • Develop and manageBIM360, including participants, checklists, issues, and observations Develop &Maintain QC documents in (checklists, site observation reports, issues log,etc.)
  • Participate in OAC(Owner Architect Contractor) meetings
  • Lead and Direct Qualityactivities and Issue Resolution
  • Conduct QC Reporting
  • Responsible forcoordinating the QA/QC requirements, QC reporting and OC checklist
  • Plan implementations
  • Receive, review, forward and track the status of submittals
  • Initiate, prepare, review,track and distribute RFls Assist in management of project permit process
  • Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
  • Update construction schedulebased on project team input, Trade Contractor progress, and materialsdelivery
  • Change management, includingsoliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and changeorders
  • Track and inspect materialdeliveries
  • Assist in preparation ofmonthly owner project status reports, as required
  • Attend project meetings, asdirected by Project Manager and record meeting minutes
  • Assist and/orcomplete project close-out Communicate and enforce Manhattan's environmental,health and safety management policies Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-freeenvironment through own actions and mentoring others
  • Maintain accurate contract documents
  • Assist Project Manager

JOBSKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Manhattan document control and scheduling software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math/accounting skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Dependability
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Time management skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • BIM360 experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years of responsibility for large commercial construction projects is preferred.
WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:
  • You must be adaptable to all weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
