Job summary

Praetorian Power Protection seeks a seasoned Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to lead project-specific QA plans and oversee field and office staff across Sparks, NV. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with owner and government requirements on diverse construction projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of QA/QC experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity, plus strong knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work and ASTM/ANSI testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of construction QA/QC experience of similar scale and complexity.
  • At least 5 years managing QA/QC functions in a similar capacity.
  • Knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work; ASTM/ANSI/APWA/ACI.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage Project-Specific Quality Plans; assign accountability and updates as projects evolve.
  • Develop and oversee Water Intrusion Plans and Major Quality Issue logs.
  • Lead Quality Support for your group; ensure field and office staff comply with requirements.
  • Prepare Project Quality Status Reports for monthly reviews; detail compliant vs non-compliant conditions.
  • Perform QA constructability reviews and certify submittals for regional and national projects.
  • Design and conduct quality-related training programs; mentor junior team members.
  • Participate in national initiatives and drive quality culture through meetings and reporting.
  • Serve as onsite quality representative for warranty investigations and subcontractor evaluations.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Create and manage Project-Specific Quality Plans; assign accountability and ensure live updates as projects evolve.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and oversee Water Intrusion Plans and Major Quality Issue logs to preemptively address project vulnerabilities.
  • Operational Oversight: Lead Quality Support for your assigned group, interpreting owner and government requirements to ensure field and office staff remain in full compliance.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare Project Quality Status Reports for monthly reviews and utilize internal QA tools to detail compliant vs. non-compliant conditions for superintendents and subcontractors.
  • Constructability & Review: Perform QA constructability reviews and certify submittals for accuracy on regional and national projects.
  • Training & Mentorship: Design and conduct quality-related training programs for internal teams and external partners; provide direct guidance to junior team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in national initiatives (Manual updates, Quality University) and foster a culture of quality through committee meetings and trend reporting.
  • Field Presence: Serve as the onsite quality representative when needed, conducting warranty investigations and partnering with teams for subcontractor performance evaluations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced ability to read drawings, specifications, and building codes. Deep knowledge of material/field testing and QA procedures for diverse construction conditions.
  • Precision: High level of accuracy in work execution with the ability to identify non-compliant conditions and investigate effective corrective measures.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to deliver professional presentations to stakeholders and business partners.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to build robust relationships with owners, manufacturer reps, and third-party consultants.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in MS Office and internal QA reporting software.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of construction QA/QC experience of similar scale and complexity. At least 5 years of experience managing QA/QC functions in a similar capacity.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical work. Must have proven expertise with a broad range of general construction and inspection processes and testing protocols/procedures (including ASTM, ANSI, APWA, ACI).
