Job summary

Athea Laboratories in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a QA/QC Line Inspector to monitor the production process, perform visual inspections, and conduct basic laboratory tests to ensure finished products meet established specifications. You will also receive and inspect materials used in production and document results.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent (or 2–3 years related experience), strong math skills, color vision, and the ability to follow procedures and communicate

• Math skills to perform unit conversions, understand order of mathematical operations, and perform multi-step calculations.
• Color vision adequate to determine conformance with quality specifications.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and instructions.
• Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately complete paperwork/documentation.
• Ability to write up observations into simple reports.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, chemical-resistant gloves, protective footwear, eye protection).
• GMP facility – any jewelry or piercings must be able to be removed or covered

Responsibilities

• Conduct first piece audits and monitor production runs on work in process.
• Receive and audit incoming, in-house, and process materials.
• Use basic laboratory equipment to measure properties of incoming and finished products.
• Enter quality-related information into the computer system.
• Complete production- and quality-related paperwork.
• Oversee mixing operations for certain products.
• Monitor production areas for compliance with quality standards.
• Check and reconcile quantities of labels.
• File documentation associated with incoming raw materials.
• Prepare samples for finished goods going to outside laboratory and product retention.
• Verify scales.
• Perform 5S/housekeeping audits

This position is responsible for monitoring the production process, conducting visual inspections and conducting basic laboratory tests to ensure that finished products meet established specifications. This position is also responsible for receiving and inspecting materials that will be used in the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting first piece audits and monitoring production runs on work in process.

• Use of basic laboratory equipment to measure physical and chemical properties of incoming and finished chemical products
• Entering quality-related information into the computer system
• Completion of production-related and quality-related paperwork
