Job summary

Hooper is a Wisconsin-based electric power and mechanical contractor with a long history of serving commercial and residential clients. The QA/QC Technician will develop, implement, and maintain the company’s QA/QC program for mechanical construction projects, ensuring compliance with ASME, IPC, UPC, NFPA, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• 5–10+ years in construction quality management focusing on mechanical systems.
• CWI or ASNT Level II/III certifications preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of codes: ASME, IPC, UPC, NFPA, AWS, SMACNA; able to read drawings.
• Procore, Bluebeam, ACC and related construction management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project QA/QC plans aligned with company policies and project requirements.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections across all phases of work.
• Mentor on-site QA/QC personnel and support teams.
• Coordinate third-party inspection and testing agencies to ensure compliance.
• Prepare high-quality QA/QC reports for management and clients.
• Lead weekly QC meetings with superintendent and project team.
