Job summary

Zachry Group seeks QA/QC Inspectors to test and inspect multiple systems, welders, raw materials, and fabricated structures to ensure compliance with specifications. You will also inspect welds, flange assemblies, and welding maps while coordinating with internal teams.

The role requires CWI certification or equivalent QC experience, knowledge of NACE I-II and LVL II PT NDE, and strong communication skills. A background in heavy industrial construction and proficiency in Excel are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect welders and samples per specifications.
• Inspect welds, flange assemblies, and raw materials.
• Provide process/spec information to welders and supervisors.
• Test welder qualifications; coordinate with X-ray teams.
• Supervise examinations, inspections, or tests for projects.
• Maintain QC records and support job-site Quality Control program.
• Train and evaluate QC personnel; report status to QA/QC.

Job description

QA/QC Inspectors will test and inspect multiple systems including testing welders and sampling and inspecting raw materials, fabricated, machined, assembled structures, and industrial processes for quality, deviations, or defects according to specifications. This position will also inspect welds, flange assemblies, weld map.

Position Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
• Inspect raw materials.
• Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members.
• Will test welders for qualifications.
• Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.
• Supervise and review project requirements, determine minimal requirements and procedures, and schedule and coordinate required examinations, inspections, or tests for the discipline or project segment assigned to.
• Supervises or performs examinations, inspections, or tests as project management and/or client requires.
• Assists management in selecting and/or testing personnel to perform specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Supervises or schedules examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project for discipline assigned to.
• Supervises, completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
• Assures implementation of job site Quality Control Program.
• Trains and evaluates Quality Control Personnel.
• Provide reports to Quality Assurance Control on program status and personnel performance as required.
• Coordinates discipline examination, inspection, and test plans with Quality Control personnel, project management, and client representatives.

Qualification Highlights

• Must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate or Quality Control experience.

• Must have extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each process.
• Must have good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be organized
• Must be able to work in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
• Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
• Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
• Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
• Must have a TWIC
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.
• Must have 3+ years of experience working as a welding inspector.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft.
• Must have all required tools.
