Job summary

Hobart Service, an ITW company, seeks a QA/QC Inspector to perform quality inspections, FANi parts verification, and case-related processing in the warehouse. This role ensures accurate receipt and disposition of parts, documents inspection results, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

The candidate will read blueprints, collaborate with multiple departments, and maintain SOPs for QC and FAIn. Normal hours with occasional overtime and a strong safety mindset are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a warehouse environment with parts.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications to verify part accuracy.
  • Perform QA inspections on FANi parts, purchase orders, transfer orders, and RMAs.
  • Process, inspect, and document First Article Inspection parts prior to receipt into inventory.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Branch Operations, Purchasing, Sourcing and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and identify trends for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain quality SOPs and FAIn procedures; support 5S initiatives and safe work practices.
  • Complete reports and documentation as requested.

SUMMARY

The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for performing quality inspections, first article inspections, and case-related processing activities associated with incoming inventory and warehouse operations. This role supports the accurate receipt and disposition of parts by verifying compliance with quality standards, documenting inspection results, identifying trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives, inventory accuracy, and operation excellence throughout the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tasks as directed by the Case Coordinator/QA Lead and QC Manager.
  • Assist with and learn the case management process for incoming parts.
  • Perform quality inspections on First Article Inspection (FANi) parts, purchase orders, transfer orders, and RMA’s.
  • Process, inspect, and document First Article Inspection parts prior to receipt into inventory.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation to verify part accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Branch Operations, Purchasing, Sourcing, and other departments to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Communicate quality findings and provide feedback regarding quality holds, nonconforming material, and related issues.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and identify trends for corrective action and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Work with warehouse leadership to resolve operational impacts and implement effective solutions
  • Assist with recall, quality, warehouse, and warranty inspections within the warehouse as needed.
  • Maintain and follow quality and First Article Inspection standard operating procedures for QC and FAIn (SOPs).
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and warehouse processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and actively support 5S initiatives.
  • Complete reports and documentation as requested.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
