Job summary

Job Description

Under minimal supervision, perform a wide variety of duties to support the Quality department. Perform mechanical and/or electrical inspections, test and inspection of incoming material, manufactured parts and final assemblies. Know and apply fundamental concepts of inspection and product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Marginal position functions that are not included among the essential duties and responsibilities in this position description are also requirements of this position.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspection of incoming or outgoing materials, determine conformance to specifications.
  • Inspection of PCBA to confirm compliance to drawings and IPC‑A‑610 workmanship requirements.
  • Use mechanical, optical and electrical measurement equipment to perform inspections to drawing/specifications. Record and distribute inspection results.
  • Generate Non‑conforming Material Report (NMR) for inspection rejects and support the NMR process.
  • Inspect Incoming First Article samples and complete inspection report.
  • Generate Customer First Article and change request documents and submit them to customer or onto customer web‑portal. Follow‑up and provide additional information as needed. Monitor submittal status and provide updates.
  • Maintain inspection, measuring and test equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in internal, client, or regulatory audits as requested.
  • Serve as back‑up employee for finished product inspection.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and SPC is a plus.
  • Support internal audit process.
  • Support company in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to follow all safety procedures.
  • Regular attendance and ability to get along with others in a team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years experience in inspection and manufacturing environment required.
  • Current certification to the IPC‑A‑610 is preferred or candidate is capable of gaining certification once hired.
  • Must be experienced with dimensional measuring equipment as well as technical and detail oriented.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
  • PC knowledge with Microsoft Windows and basic knowledge of Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to search and navigate through web‑based programs preferred.
  • Ability to analyze drawings, sketches, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances preferred.
