Job summary

Public Service Electric & Gas Co. (PSEG) is seeking a centralized services QA/QC professional to observe gas construction tasks, document safety procedures, and ensure adherence to construction standards at PSE&G sites.

The role requires at least 5 years in quality control, knowledge of welding, and leadership during emergencies; hybrid onsite/remote work with NJ territories including New Brunswick, and a strong comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control/assurance, compliance related work or similar discipline.
• Knowledge of welding practices, procedures, or inspection requirements for gas distribution construction.
• Experience in construction environments.
• Ability to provide direction and leadership during emergencies.
• Clear verbal and written communication of observations.
• Understanding of PSEG Construction Standards and Safety Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and document required skills and expertise of associates and contractors to perform tasks meeting company expectations.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements for gas construction and NJ One Call; report compliance status.
• Schedule and conduct quality auditing, surveillance, observations, and evaluations; perform self-assessments as needed.
• Observe and record trench size, backfill, plating, shoring, and safety requirements.
• Verify NJ One Call requirements, permitting, 911 notifications, and safety standard adherence; report exceptions using automated reporting tools.
• Contribute to corrective action plans, root cause analyses and reports; support data analysis and mitigation.
• During storms and outages, perform duties outside normal operations if required.
• Potentially work at different locations as assigned.
