Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior QA leader in Mountain View to guide the QA organization across software and hardware domains. You will drive test strategy, automate critical mobile app tests, and oversee cross-functional collaboration with product and hardware teams.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in QA, 3+ years in management, and a strong SDLC background. Travel for on-site testing at global facilities is required, with a focus on regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• 3+ years in a QA management role.
• Deep understanding of the SDLC.
• Proven track record leading QA teams and managing comprehensive testing strategies for software and hardware.
• Strong leadership and excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with testing mobile applications on Android and iOS.
• Proficiency building and maintaining test automation for mobile applications.
• Able to understand and analyze technical documentation and API specifications.
• Experience planning and developing test strategies to meet project targets.
• Experience standardizing and improving QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the QA team and foster their professional growth.
• Develop, implement, and manage QA protocols and strategies to ensure quality meets standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and tooling, including automated testing and simulated dependencies.
• Oversee design, creation, and review of test cases aligned with product specs.
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure QA aligns with objectives.
• Establish and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders such as vehicle hardware teams and tier-1 suppliers.
• Plan vehicle/hardware tests with external QA teams for efficient sessions.
• Report QA metrics, progress, and team performance to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage QA test plans and travel to on-site testing at facilities in Japan, Ohio, and Los Angeles.
• Manage QA processes, test planning, and test automation for mobile apps on iOS and Android across APIs and automotive hardware.
