CraftMark Bakery is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support day-shift QA activities, ensuring food safety, quality compliance, and accurate data for production releases.

The role involves sampling during production, data entry, line and equipment inspections, and maintaining records. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential; associates degree preferred and 2 years QA or manufacturing experience.

Formación

  • Minimum of two (2) years previous quality assurance lab experience or two (2) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Associate degree in food science or related science preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and basic math proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Prepares, bakes and analyzes product samples during production.
  • Prepares, bakes and analyzes product samples postproduction as required.
  • Enters data into quality databases and escalates non-compliant products to leadership for corrective action.
  • Conducts post-cleaning and pre-operational inspections.
  • Conducts environmental, ATP, or allergen swabbing as directed.
  • Collects and processes retain or Hold samples for investigations.
  • Performs key analytical and organoleptic testing of raw/finished product as required.
  • Maintains accurate and legible records.
  • Initiates HOLD for any non-compliant product in either food safety or product quality.
  • Informs line leadership of trends in product quality or safety.
  • Performs metal detector investigations of reject samples.
  • Performs label and packaging verifications.
  • Maintains calibration tests and minor maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Follows escalation protocol for food safety incidents.
  • Conducts line audits as required.
  • Initiates IR for non-compliant situations.
  • Projects support for QA as assigned.
  • Collects and ships samples for outside analysis.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician - Days (Level 5)

Reports to: Director of Quality Assurance

Pay Range: $21.00 Hour

Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining quality and food safety compliance, in direct support of the operation of the business unit they are assigned to. This entails product releases, Hold processing, incident report investigations, audits, reports and key data maintenance.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares, bakes and analyzes product samples during production.
  • Prepares, bakes and analyzes product samples postproduction as required
  • Enters data into quality databases and escalates non-compliant products to leadership for corrective action.
  • Conducts post-cleaning and pre-operational inspections.
  • Conducts environmental, ATP, or allergen swabbing as directed.
  • Collect and process retain or Hold samples in support of complaint or incident investigations.
  • Perform key analytical and organoleptic testing of raw/finished product as required.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Initiate HOLD for any non-compliant product in either food safety or product quality.
  • Inform line leadership of any situation regarding product quality trends, food safety or labeling.
  • Perform metal detector investigation of reject samples brought in from the line.
  • Perform label and packaging verifications.
  • Maintain calibration tests and minor maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Follow the escalation protocol for any food safety incidents.
  • Conduct line audits as required.
  • Initiate IR (Incident Report) for any non-compliant situations.
  • Project support for QA as assigned.
  • Collect and ship samples for outside analysis.
Required Education and Experience
Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous quality assurance lab experience or two (2) years of manufacturing experience
Preferred
  • Associate degree in food science or related science
Competency
  • Basic math skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position operates in a professional office environment and out in the manufacturing operation. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and other office equipment. All required PPE for plant operational safety is expected to be used. Position requires ability to communicate and work well with peers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Requires lifting of up to 30 pounds.

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
