Fresh Express is seeking a QA Lead to join a fast-paced production team focused on quality and compliance. You will perform routine sampling and testing, identify out-of-spec materials, and document actions to maintain product integrity.

You will reinforce SOPs, monitor QA equipment, and support GMP adherence and food safety with peers. The role requires flexibility for overtime and physical tasks in a cold environment.

Qualifikationen

• 2-3 years' experience as a QA Tech, preferably in a food environment.
• Must read and interpret documents (in English) such as safety rules and product specs.
• Must write routine reports and e-mails (in English).
• Must be able to upload information into portable electronic devices (Tablets/ATP Units).
• Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment for an entire shift.
• Must be able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Aufgaben

• Routine sampling and testing of Fresh Express products at various stages of production.
• Recognizing, identifying, and documenting out-of-spec samples.
• Ensuring adjustments are made to meet specifications and rechecking after adjustments.
• Analyzes chlorine testing, pH testing, rinse water temperature, metal detector verification, oxygen testing, and seal integrity.
• Monitors packaging, shelf-life sampling, and distribution quality checks.
• Documents all results and actions; ensures SOPs are followed and corrective actions implemented.
• Oversees area practices for GMP adherence and food safety with peers and team.
• Serves as backup for other unit positions to cover breaks, meals, and absences.

The Quality Assurance Lead Position is a fast-paced position heavily involved with the mathematical and technical areas. The QA Technician serves as an important supporting member of the Production Team.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions

• Responsible for routine sampling and testing of Fresh Express products at various stages of production as follow:
• Recognizing, identifying, communicating, and documenting out-of-spec samples.
• Ensuring that adjustments are made to ensure compliance with specifications, and for rechecking following adjustments to ensure that product is of the highest quality.
• Analyzes Total and free chlorine testing includes pH testing
• Rinse water temperature monitoring
• Metal detector verification
• Percent oxygen testing
• Cut quality and blend ratio evaluation including Total volume testing
• Seal integrity (leakers testing)
• Shelf-life sample collection
• Master Pack System Verification
• Documentation of all results and actions
• Monitors assigned equipment/tool condition, calibration and use.
• Reinforces area practices to ensure SOPs are being adhered to for quality checks and corrective action with peers and team.
• Reinforces area practices that promote a safe work environment with peers and team
• Reinforces area practices that promote GMP adherence and food safety with peers and team
• Participates in food safety incident.
• Reinforces proper safety habits including LOTO is being properly executed with peers/team
• Serves a backup for other unit positions as needed to cover for breaks, meals, and absences.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Must have basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
• Must be able to read and interpret documents (in English) such as safety rules, product specifications, etc.
• Must write routine reports and e-mail correspondence (in English).
• Must be able to upload information into portable electronic (Tablets and ATP Units).
• Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment for an entire shift.
• Must be able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift-up to 50lbs when required.

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills

• Previous experience (1 year) worked as a Lead QA or a Technical environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience meeting or exceeding high production expectations.
• Food industry experience.
• Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision and direction.

Education/Training

2 - 3 years' experience as a QA Tech, preferably in a food environment
