Fresh Express, Inc. is seeking a QA Lead with a background as a QA Technician to join a fast-paced production team. The role centers on sampling, testing, documentation, and ensuring specifications are met across production stages.

You will analyze chlorine, pH, rinse temperature, metal detection, shelf-life sampling, and seal integrity while upholding SOPs, GMP, and food safety practices. Overtime and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required.

Aufgaben

• Routine sampling and testing of products at various production stages.
• Identify, communicate, and document out-of-spec samples.
• Make adjustments to ensure specifications are met and recheck after adjustments.
• Analyze chlorine testing (Total and free), pH, rinse water temp, metal detector verification, and other QA checks.
• Evaluate seal integrity, shelf-life sampling, and blend ratios.
• Document all results and actions; monitor equipment condition and calibration.
• Enforce SOPs, GMP, and food safety practices with peers; support safety culture and LOTO.
• Provide backup coverage for other unit positions as needed; perform other duties as required.

The Quality Assurance Lead Position is a fast-paced position heavily involved with the mathematical and technical areas. The QA Technician serves as an important supporting member of the Production Team.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:

• - Responsible for routine sampling and testing of Fresh Express products at various stages of production as follow:
• - Recognizing, identifying, communicating, and documenting out-of-spec samples.
• - Ensuring that adjustments are made to ensure compliance with specifications, and for rechecking following adjustments to ensure that product is of the highest quality.
• - Analyzes Total and free chlorine testing includes pH testing
• - Rinse water temperature monitoring
• - Metal detector verification
• - Percent oxygen testing
• - Cut quality and blend ratio evaluation including Total volume testing
• - Seal integrity (leakers testing)
• - Shelf-life sample collection
• - Master Pack System Verification
• - Documentation of all results and actions
• - Monitors assigned equipment/tool condition, calibration, and use.
• - Reinforces area practices to ensure SOPs are being adhered to for quality checks and corrective action with peers and team.
• - Reinforces area practices that promote a safe work environment with peers and team
• - Reinforces area practices that promote GMP adherence and food safety with peers and team
• - Participates in food safety incident.
• - Reinforces proper safety habits including LOTO is being properly executed with peers/team
• - Serves a backup for other unit positions as needed to cover for breaks, meals, and absences.
• - Perform other duties as required or assigned

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• - Must have basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
• - Must be able to read and interpret documents (in English) such as safety rules, product specifications, etc.
• - Must write routine reports and e-mail correspondence (in English).
• - Must be able to upload information into portable electronic (Tablets and ATP Units).
• - Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment for an entire shift.
• - Must be able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
• - Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
• - Must be able to lift-up to 50lbs when required.

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

• - Previous experience (1 year) worked as a Lead QA or a Technical environment.
• - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• - Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• - Experience meeting or exceeding high production expectations.
• - Food industry experience.
• - Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision and direction.

Education/Training:

• 2 - 3 years' experience as a QA Tech, preferably in a food environment
