Job summary

Valtech is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to advance experience innovation and push testing boundaries across web, mobile, API, and desktop platforms.

The role emphasizes building scalable automation frameworks, integrating AI-powered testing tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment. Hybrid work options are available, with Bengaluru as a base for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software test automation.
• 6+ years working with AI-augmented testing tools.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and/or Java.

Responsibilities

• Strong hands-on expertise in designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and desktop applications.
• Deep understanding of STLC and ability to define end-to-end automation strategy for enterprise-scale applications.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered testing tools to improve testing speed and coverage.
• Design and implement scalable, reusable automation scripts using Playwright/Selenium with Python or Java.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous testing.
• Perform functional, regression, API, and end-to-end automated testing across multiple application streams.
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve defects.
• Prepare and maintain test metrics, automation coverage reports, and dashboards for stakeholder visibility.
• Explore and prototype AI/ML-driven testing use cases.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Strong hands-on expertise in designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and desktop applications
• Deep understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and ability to define end-to-end automation strategy for enterprise-scale applications
• Drive adoption of AI-powered testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based test generation/self-healing platforms) to improve testing speed and coverage
• Design and implement scalable, reusable automation scripts using Playwright/Selenium with Python or Java
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous testing
• Perform functional, regression, API, and end-to-end automated testing across multiple application streams
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to resolve defects
• Prepare and maintain test metrics, automation coverage reports, and dashboards for stakeholder visibility
• Explore and prototype AI/ML-driven testing use cases (e.g., predictive test selection, anomaly detection, intelligent test data generation)

Must Have

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

• 8+years of experience in software test automation, with at least 6+years working with AI-augmented testing tools
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and/or Java
• Hands-on expertise with Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and cloud testing platforms (LambdaTest/BrowserStack)
• Working knowledge of AI Copilot tools and experience applying them within a testing/QA context
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (REST Assured, Postman, Swagger)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and version control (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Note; Playwright tool / Python scripting Expert level, top class members with excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, enthusiastic and ability to learn quickly and contribute and grow.
