KoiReader is seeking a high-caliber QA Lead to define the quality bar for mission-critical AI systems across mobile, desktop, and edge devices. You will architect automation frameworks, lead a team, and ensure robust test coverage from design to production.

The role emphasizes data-driven quality metrics, GO/NO-GO release decisions, and close collaboration with product, AI researchers, and DevOps to embed testing into CI/CD. Experience in CV/AI testing and cross-platform validation is essential.

We are looking for a high-caliber QA Lead (Quality Commander) to spearhead and scale our quality engineering practice from the ground up. At KoiReader, quality is not a checklistit is a core engineering pillar. In this role, you will define the quality bar for mission-critical AI systems operating across Mobile, Desktop, and Edge devices. You will architect robust automation frameworks, design testing strategies for Computer Vision models, champion data-driven quality metrics, and serve as the ultimate gatekeeper for production releases.

Key Responsibilities

• QA Strategy & Leadership: Architect and execute an end-to-end QA roadmap aligned with rapid product delivery cycles. Lead, mentor, and upskill a high-performing team of QA engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Automation Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, modular automation frameworks from scratch across Mobile (iOS/Android), Web applications, and backend APIs. Drive high automation coverage to minimize manual regression efforts.
• Visual & AI Quality Assurance: Pioneer validation frameworks and test methodologies for Computer Vision and Generative AI models. Rigorously test model behavior across varying image/video datasets, real-world lighting conditions, hardware constraints, and environmental anomalies at scale.
• Analytical Problem-Solving: Apply rigorous analytical thinking to dissect complex multi-tiered systems, identify critical edge cases, and perform systematic root cause analysis (RCA) on defect patterns. Leverage data analytics to uncover hidden software anomalies, assess deployment risks, and drive informed, evidence-based quality engineering decisions.
• Release Gatekeeping: Own the "Go/No-Go" decision for production releases. Collaborate closely with DevOps and Engineering to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Metrics & Reporting: Define, monitor, and report critical QA KPIs (e.g., Defect Escape Rate, Test Automation ROI, Mean Time to Detect/Resolve) using visibility dashboards.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Embed with Product Management, AI Researchers, and System Architects early in the SDLC to validate specifications, guarantee testability, and preemptively identify failure modes.

Skills & Requirements

• Experience: 69 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance, including a minimum of 2 years in a team lead, module lead, or mentoring capacity.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to dissect complex system workflows, identify subtle edge cases, perform root-cause analysis on defects, and interpret data-driven quality metrics to drive decisions.
• Automation Mastery: Deep hands-on coding experience (Python, Java, or JavaScript) and expertise in automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Mobile, UI/UX & Cross-Platform: Proven track record of leading testing for Native/Hybrid mobile applications and complex cross-OS desktop environments (Windows, Linux). Strong expertise in UI/UX validation, usability testing, accessibility testing, responsive design verification, and touch-screen testing. Hands-on experience validating gesture-based interactions such as swipe, pinch-to-zoom, drag-and-drop, multi-touch, screen orientation changes, and device-specific user experiences across Android and iOS ecosystems.
• API & Backend: Strong experience validating complex backend architectures and APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
• Computer Vision or AI/ML Testing: Previous experience testing AI, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision models and pipelines.
• Process Engineering: Strong foundation in Agile/Scrum delivery models and expertise with modern test and issue management systems (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).

Brownie Points

• CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Performance Testing: Familiarity with load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Logistics or Supply Chain operational challenges.
