Job summary

Azra Games seeks a QA Lead to build and lead a distributed QA team, establish scalable quality practices, and drive release excellence for UnGodly. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality live game experiences for players.

You will own QA planning, test strategy, and interface with engineering, live operations, and support. The role supports remote candidates in the US and Canada with a hybrid option in Sacramento, CA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional QA experience, including 2+ years leading teams across the full game development lifecycle.
• Experience supporting a live mobile game with a large, active player base.
• Strong knowledge of software development, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
• A track record of improving processes, driving change, and embedding QA within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience building and leading distributed teams.
• Experience partnering with live operations, marketing, and customer support.
• A proactive, resourceful mindset: able to work autonomously, seek out answers, and take ownership of results.
• Ability to adapt to ambiguity and shifting development priorities while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily QA operations, partnering with team leads to align priorities, assignments, and schedules with project goals.
• Own QA planning for capacity, certification, risk management, and Alpha, Beta, and Final build signoff criteria.
• Train and support external QA teams, ensuring consistent testing standards and coordination with internal teams and other vendors.
• Manage TestRail projects and approve test plans and test cases.
• Own the Jira bug database, ensuring effective issue tracking, triage, and reporting.
• Communicate quality risks, issues, and progress to stakeholders, partners, and executives.
• Improve QA, release, and deployment processes, establishing scalable practices that support the title’s growth.
• Partner with engineering, live operations and customer support to deliver a high-quality player experience.

This role is open to remote candidates in the US and Canada, with a hybrid option in Sacramento, CA.

What You Will Do

Compensation

For California candidates, the base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year. The ranges listed is what we expect to pay applicants for this role at the time of posting. If you reside in a different location. we will advise on the applicable range.
