Job summary

Means Engineering, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a quality inspector to perform detailed inspections of materials and assemblies, using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision equipment.

You will document results in the ERP system and ensure conformance to ISO9001, AS9100, and ISO13485 requirements. The role includes performing receiving, in-process, final, and shipping inspections, plus First Article Inspections per AS 9102.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance functions related to inspection
• Training and experience with ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO14001, and ITAR requirements
• Basic understanding of JSTD-001 standards, IPC 600, IPC 610, and IPC 620 standards
• Proficient in mathematics; knowledge of geometry and GD&T
• Able to read and interpret prints and drawings
• Strong English communication skills and ability to write records/documents
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform detailed inspections of materials, parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment
• Document inspection results in ERP per company policies and quality system requirements
• Perform receiving, in-process, final and shipping inspections
• Conduct First Article Inspections and generate FAI reports per AS 9102
• Occasionally participate in Material Review Board and handle Non-Conforming Material Reports
• Transport materials to/from work centers for inspection
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing events
