Job summary

Bolsan is seeking a Quality Inspector in Santa Clarita to inspect aerospace components throughout production and final inspection before shipment. You will read blueprints, apply ANSI Y14.5M, and perform dimensional analysis using micrometers, calipers, and profilometers.

Experience with AS9102 FAI processes and aerospace suppliers is expected. You will collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure conformity, document discrepancies, and maintain inspection records while meeting

Job description

Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of parts throughout the manufacturing process and perform the final inspection of parts prior to shipment to the customer. This role is required to analyze specifications including written statements of work, purchase orders, part/assembly models, drawings, parts lists, bills of material, layouts, etc. and verify all required documentation has been properly interpreted and applied to the part production process. This role requires proven experience using a variety of inspection methods to determine part conformity for precision machined 3 & 5 axis components, sheet metal parts and assemblies. Experienced working with Spirit Aerospace, Boeing Defense, Lockheed, Northrop, Collins Aerospace, and other major aerospace suppliers. This role works closely with the Lamsco production and engineering teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow Instructions and procedures.
• Read blueprints and correctly interpret its features following dimensioning and tolerance ANSI Y14.5M guidelines.
• Translate dimensions from blueprints using shop math.
• Read correctly and interpret Standard and specifications.
• Uses basic inspection equipment (Micrometer, caliper, Test indicator, surface plate, etc.) and a surface roughness tester (profilometer).
• Works with common geometric features used in blueprints and provide application knowledge of how to inspect for each (Roughness concentricity, flatness runout, perpendicularity, and parallelism).
• Read and correctly interpret rejection documentation (rejection tags, purge and hold form etc.)
• Perform a First Article Detail and Assembly accordance with form AS9102.
• Process Net-Inspect AS9102 FAI’s.
• Perform Receiving Inspection, Warehouse Releases, Grading, Peel Testing, OP, Shipping Inspection & Final Inspection duties.
• Meets productivity goals related to your department workload.
• Additional Duties, as assigned.
