Job Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Previous QA experience preferred (at least 1 year).
  • Ability to read blueprints required.
  • Knowledge of micrometers and calipers required.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours.
Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Quality Lab Supervisor and Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Technician conducts testing, inspection, dimensional analysis, and supports other departments. The role involves product/process inspections in a manufacturing environment, with overtime including some weekends. The technician will also support maintaining the company's TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications by adhering to policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation.

Essential Functions
  • Understand customer expectations regarding product quality.
  • Support a team-oriented environment.
  • Mentor operators on product quality.
  • Perform 1st piece and in-process inspections.
  • Conduct specific tests, including tensile and moisture analysis.
  • Verify material certifications and approve raw materials.
  • Record inspection data using SPC software.
  • Handle non-conforming materials appropriately.
  • Perform dimensional layouts referencing drawings.
  • Weigh parts and utilize control plans, PPAP, and PPC testing.
  • Assist in maintaining quality and environmental certifications.
Additional Functions

Become a go-to person for production regarding quality issues, determine 'clean points' for non-conformance, support LEAN initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to read blueprints and use basic hand measuring tools.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Basic computer skills are a plus, especially in injection molding knowledge.

All employees in manufacturing areas must wear designated PPE. Ability to work daily and weekend overtime is required to meet department and customer needs.
