Job summary

Phaxis in New York seeks a Regulatory Reporting Testing Specialist to validate FR Y-9C and FFIEC 002 outputs, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across cycles.

You will analyze data lineage, run SIT/UAT tests, document results, and coordinate with Finance, Technology, and external consultants to drive production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Test regulatory reports by comparing outputs with production processes and EUC calculations.

• Hands-on with Axiom platform, data lineage, SQL, and Excel-based analysis.
• Collaborate with regulatory, finance, technology, and PMO; explain results to stakeholders.

Job description

• Testing and Validation of Regulatory Reports
  • Conduct thorough testing of Axiom regulatory reporting solutions by comparing outputs with current Production processes and End User Computing (EUC) calculations to ensure data precision, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Perform detailed checks on report outcomes, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with business and technology teams to address these issues.
  • Ensure the accuracy of regulatory schedules, line items, calculations, and supporting data throughout various reporting cycles.
  • Evaluate and challenge business requirements, functional specifications, mapping documents, and testing scenarios to confirm comprehensive coverage of regulatory reporting needs.
  • Create, execute, and document test strategies, cases, scripts, and evidence to support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Manage defect activities, including triage, impact assessment, prioritization, retesting, and validation of corrective actions.
• Expertise in Regulatory Reporting
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of client and regulatory reporting requirements, focusing primarily on FR Y-9C and FFIEC 002.
  • Interpret regulatory guidelines and reporting needs, translating them into actionable testing and validation scenarios.
  • Understand methodologies, balances, attributes, products, and classifications relevant to banking and financial institutions.
  • Assess the implications of regulatory changes, data sourcing updates, and modifications in reporting logic on report outputs and downstream processes.
  • Ensure reports are generated in line with regulatory guidance, governance standards, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Axiom and Data Analysis
  • Have extensive hands-on experience with the Axiom regulatory reporting platform, including investigating report logic, business rules, and calculation methods.
  • Analyze Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), mapping documents, and data transformation logic to validate report design and implementation.
  • Trace data lineage from source systems through transformations and reporting layers to identify data quality issues and reporting impacts.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of critical regulatory reporting data elements, attributes, reference data, hierarchies, and calculations.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis using SQL, Excel, reporting extracts, and reconciliation techniques to verify reporting accuracy and identify anomalies.
• Collaboration and Communication
  • Work effectively with Regulatory Reporting (FRR), Finance, Technology, EDMO, Data Management, PMO, and external consulting teams to drive testing and implementation activities.
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders to explain testing results, reporting impacts, root causes, risks, and remediation plans clearly and concisely.
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into business-friendly language for executive and senior management audiences.
  • Facilitate working sessions, issue resolution meetings, defect reviews, and status updates across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Build strong relationships across business and technology organizations to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project objectives.
