Job summary

BD is seeking a dynamic Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to lead onshore and offshore QA teams, champion quality practices, and ensure high-quality software for customers. The role reports to the Sr.

Manager, Software Quality Engineering and focuses on scalable QA strategies, risk management, and proactive defect resolution. You will guide testing across distributed teams, implement modern tools, and contribute hands-on when needed to ensure reliability, performance, and usability of BD’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in general Software Quality Assurance.
• 6 years of experience in SDET or automation-focused roles.
• QA lead or key contributor on complex cross-functional projects.
• Strong hands-on experience in manual and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and modern testing best practices.
• Deep understanding of test automation frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
• Experience with API testing (RESTful and SOAP) and system integrations.
• Experience with Jira and CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps and Bitbucket.
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to QA engineers and SDETs.
• Act as the primary QA point of contact for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure clear, testable requirements.
• Define and execute test strategies aligned with scope and timelines.
• Plan and estimate testing activities for adequate coverage.
• Oversee manual and automated testing across functional, regression, and integration areas.
• Review and validate test cases for alignment with requirements.
• Drive adoption of test automation and maintain automation frameworks.
• Coordinate across teams and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Develop and enforce AI-driven testing approaches to improve efficiency and quality.
• Track and manage defects through lifecycle and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support release planning and QA sign-off based on quality criteria.
