Job summary

Tabbed is building its quality practice from the ground up. You’ll be the first dedicated QA member, starting with manual testing across iOS and Android, then laying the foundations for automation in a TypeScript/Node.js stack.

Qualifications

• Hands-on programming in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js.
• Working familiarity with React and React Native.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of SDLC and QA concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Self-motivation and comfort with ambiguity.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create our first formal end-to-end manual test plans and execute them on iOS and Android for new features, bug fixes, and release candidates
• Write clear, reusable test cases from product requirements, designs, and user stories, and organize them into a living test library
• Identify, document, and track defects with precise reproduction steps, noting whether issues are platform-specific or shared across iOS and Android, and work directly with developers to verify fixes
• Use Node.js and TypeScript tooling to debug issues, inspect logs and API traffic, and help pinpoint root causes
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, device and OS-version differences, and usability issues
• Help establish baseline QA processes: bug reporting standards, release checklists, and test documentation
• Begin building automated UI/UX regression tests for our React Native app
• Develop test fixtures and mock services in TypeScript and Node.js that simulate POS terminal behavior, reducing our reliance on physical hardware
• Help evaluate and recommend testing tools and frameworks, and bring automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline over time
• Partner with engineers and product managers during project planning, standups, and release readiness reviews
