Job summary

Alchelyst seeks an experienced QA Engineer to join the NYC team, focusing on our proprietary case-management software and QA for broader tech portfolio. The role blends manual testing, automation, data validation, and collaboration with Product, Engineering, and external teams to shift testing left and strengthen release readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance / Software Testing.
• Hands-on testing of enterprise web apps and case-management systems.
• Experience with API, integration, end-to-end testing across systems.
• Automation experience with Playwright, Selenium, pytest, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, maintain, and execute test cases from user stories and specs.
• Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across workstreams.
• Validate case-management journeys across roles and scenarios.
• Test RBAC, data security, and auditability; ensure coverage.
• API and service-layer testing with Postman and automation frameworks.
• Use SQL and reporting tools to verify back-end processing and data integrity.
• Log defects in Jira and work with developers to fix and prevent regressions.
• Participate in planning, demos, and release-readiness reviews.
• Build automated regression with Playwright and TS/Python; integrate into CI/CD.
• Prepare test data, environments, and coordinate cross-team testing.
• Provide concise test progress and release recommendations.
