Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks an experienced QA Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, MA. You will verify complex software, develop test plans, and contribute to automated and manual testing across multiple projects.

The role emphasizes requirements analysis, cross-team collaboration, and delivering high-quality software for our Inspection Business Unit. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• ~5 years of software testing and/or systems-level testing experience for highly technical applications.
• Experience scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.) and testing client/server solutions.
• Strong Windows development experience with .NET (C#, C++) and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies; strong debugging of multi-threaded environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements-based and system-level testing across projects and platforms to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, manufacturing and applications teams to validate software.
• Analyze and verify requirements for testability and clarity; develop detailed test plans for new features.
• Design and implement test strategies, cases, and procedures for sub-systems.
• Execute automated and manual tests including regression, functional, and acceptance testing.
