Socket.dev in Tulsa, OK seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. You will partner with manufacturing, engineering, vendors, sales, and customers to verify upfront quality via contract review and drive improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
This role supports Space, Aviation, and Nuclear Energy markets and involves APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and process audits to maintain compliance.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. This role partners with manufacturing, engineering, vendors/suppliers, sales, and customers to verify up front quality requirements through contract review, and then to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and operational efficiency. The primary areas of Company business supported by this role are activities in the Space, Aviation, and Nuclear Energy industries.
Provide quality-related technical support to sales with particular focus on first article submittals, PPAP activity, and the drive for continuous improvement with respect to ongoing business activities, new products and product or manufacturing method improvements. Conduct Quality and Process audits both internal and external as well as hosting customer Quality Representative and regulatory visitors.
Education: Minimum: 4 year degree in Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Metallurgical Engineering, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with Quality Management Concentration, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Manufacturing Management (BMM) in Quality Management, Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Quality Assurance Management, or Graduate level degrees in Quality Assurance/Control Management degree, a hard science degree will also be considered from an accredited university. Current certification by the American Society for Quality will be a plus.
Preferred, but not required, minimum 2 years of hands on and demonstrated experience in metal fabrication industry in quality assurance field. Optical comparator experience for measurements for First Article Inspections and NDT Penetrant Testing Level II qualifications.
Good understanding of national and international standards relevant to the pressure relief device and aerospace industries, such as ISO, CE, ASME, ANSI etc. Knowledge of quality assurance tools such FMEA, DOE, Process simulation, Statistical Analysis. Exposure to lean manufacturing and use of six sigma concepts. Ability to use quality software such as Minitab.
