Job summary

Sweetwater is hiring a QA engineer to strengthen our software quality assurance team. You will design test plans for new features, execute tests, and collaborate with developers to resolve quality issues while ensuring timely production release.

The role includes building automated testing solutions to prevent critical regressions and to support a fast-paced environment. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience testing web or native applications (MacOS).
  • Proficiency in modern QA best practices (functional & non-functional).

  • Familiarity with agile/Kanban processes.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated end‑to‑end tests using Cypress and JavaScript/Python.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG standards is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling is preferred.
  • Understanding of client/server interactions and basic SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated QA testing of software.
  • Coordinate ticket assignments with QA and Web/4D & Desktop teams.
  • Test and script incoming software from Development Teams.
  • Identify, analyze, and document functional issues.
  • Monitor bug resolution progress and track outcomes.
  • Use Jira for ticket management and prioritize with urgency.
  • Write and maintain automated E2E tests with Cypress and JS/Python.

Job Requirements

Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments, is seeking to hire a QA engineer to add to our growing software quality assurance team. As a QA engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing product quality of our software applications. You will be expected to independently design effective test plans for new features (including acceptance and exploratory testing methods), to set up and execute tests in a timely fashion, to collaborate with developers to resolve discovered quality issues, and to produce clear and actionable bug reports. This role represents the final step in the iterative development process before production release and must maintain a high attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment. Additionally, this role will contribute to automated testing solutions to ensure the absence of critical regression defects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for manual and automated software QA testing
  • Coordinating ticket assignments and collaborating with QA and Web/4D & Desktop team to complete assigned tickets
  • Test and script incoming software from Development Teams
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, or content
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
  • Utilize Jira for managing incoming tickets and working with a high sense of urgency to resolve software bugs
  • Write and maintain automated end‑to‑end testing utilizing modern frameworks such as Cypress and languages such as JavaScript & Python
Qualifications
  • Experience testing web or native applications (MacOS)

  • Effective and articulate communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a creative edge to discover defects under various customer personas
  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills
  • A passion for growth in learning new technologies and tools to support testing strategy
  • Knowledge of Git version‑control system
  • Familiarity with agile development processes and kanban project‑management workflow is preferred
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated end‑to‑end tests using modern frameworks such as Cypress, and languages such as JavaScript and Python
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG standards would be a bonus
  • Familiarity with application life‑cycle management tools, including CI/CD processes preferred
  • Understanding of client/server interaction and network protocols
  • Basic understanding of query languages (such as SQL) and relational database‑management tools preferred
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification would be a big plus
