Job summary

Komodo Consulting is seeking a QA Engineer to join a technology project with a strong emphasis on test automation. You will design and implement testing strategies, automate test cases, and validate APIs and backend services.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and business teams in a hybrid Lisbon/Porto/Coimbra/Braga setup, contributing to CI/CD and quality assurance from early development stages.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, techniques, and the software testing lifecycle.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalents.
• Programming or scripting experience in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or equivalents.
• Experience with Jira, Xray, TestRail, or equivalents for test management and defect tracking.
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• English B2 or higher.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6) and ISTQB certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on requirements.
• Perform manual and automated testing including functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Test APIs and backend services, validate data and integrations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
• Support performance, security, and accessibility testing where applicable.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to quality from early development stages.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business teams to ensure product quality.
• Produce and maintain up-to-date test documentation and quality reports.

The Project

We are seeking a QA Engineer to work on a technology project.

You will have the following responsibilities:

• Define and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on business and technical requirements;
• Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing;
• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts;
• Test APIs and backend services, validating data and integrations;
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines;
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution;
• Support performance, security, and accessibility testing where applicable;
