Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Quality Assurance Analyst I to support reliable full-stack software by planning, executing, and improving QA across web apps, APIs, integrations, and release environments. You will develop and maintain automated functional, regression, and end-to-end tests using modern browser automation frameworks.

You will partner with developers, product owners, and delivery teams to identify defects early and contribute to test-environment readiness, defect triage, and release-readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, requirements analysis, programming, or related IT disciplines.
• Hands-on experience developing and executing automated browser-based tests using Playwright and Selenium.
• Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, regression suites, and defect reports across the software lifecycle.
• Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and API testing for web-based applications and services.
• Ability to identify, document, track, and retest defects with clear evidence and effective communication.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust background investigation.
• Candidates must be able to work on-site in Bethesda, MD two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design risk-based test approaches, test cases, test data, and traceability artifacts aligned to functional requirements and dependencies.
• Build, maintain, and execute automated UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end test scripts using Playwright and Selenium.
• Perform API testing to validate service behavior and data integrity.
• Execute smoke, regression, functional, exploratory, and security-focused testing across multiple environments.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyze test results to isolate failures.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and retest software defects with clear reproduction steps and release-risk context.
• Support test-environment readiness by validating configurations and test-data setup, escalating issues as needed.
• Participate in peer code and test-automation reviews and release-readiness activities to improve coverage and reliability.
