SpotHero seeks an Automation Engineer in Chicago to join the Quality Guild. You will split time between manual QA and building/maintaining automated coverage with Playwright, collaborating with backend, frontend, and mobile engineers to ensure fast, reliable releases.

You will own test suites, contribute to dashboards, and help evolve our testing tooling and processes within a collaborative, growth‑minded team.

Formación

• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests with Playwright (or Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO).
• Working proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• Hands-on manual QA experience including functional, regression, exploratory, and/or black-box testing.
• Comfort working in Git/GitHub and collaborating through pull requests and code review.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence-based Scrum workflows.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Own and maintain all automated tests for your team, keeping them green and remediating failures quickly.
• Identify automation opportunities and write end-to-end and integration tests in Playwright.
• Perform manual QA alongside automation work; exploratory testing and release validation.
• Represent automation work in Jira/Scrum, keeping it visible with the team's roadmap.
• Contribute to automation dashboards and monthly Test Review; track coverage trends.
• Provide feedback to the central Automation team on tooling and processes.
• Partner with the Automation team on CI/CD pipelines and AI-assisted testing.
