Job summary

MartinFed in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Mid-Level QA Automation Test Engineer to join the Mission Solutions modeling and simulation team. You will design and maintain automated tests for a React/TypeScript desktop/web application built with Vite, Electron, Material UI, and Cesium, ensuring reliability for a national defense mission.

Responsibilities include building end-to-end and regression tests, creating reusable automation frameworks, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance up to Top Secret/SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of software quality assurance or test automation experience.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and automation frameworks.
• Experience building UI, end-to-end, functional, and regression tests.
• Familiarity with Cucumber, Gherkin, or BDD.
• Experience testing React apps and Electron/Vite-based desktop apps.
• Ability to work independently in an Agile environment and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to create test plans, cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
• Build end-to-end, functional, integration, and regression tests for React/TypeScript apps.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, fixtures, test data, and reporting components.
• Test React, Material UI, Vite, and Electron applications, including UI and accessibility checks.
• Test Cesium-based geospatial features and map workflows.
• Create and maintain BDD feature files and step definitions with traceability to requirements.
• Analyze results, log defects, and differentiate issues from environmental factors.
• Execute regression tests and support release qualification; integrate tests into CI/CD.
• Provide guidance to junior QA engineers and contribute to QA standards.
