Job summary

BigBear.ai is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to translate product requirements into test coverage, build Playwright automation, and collaborate with Product and Engineering for release readiness. You will own automated coverage for browser, application, and backend surfaces, ensuring auditability, security, and government compliance in everyday delivery.

You will design risk-based coverage, validate AI workflows, and integrate tests into CI/CD while maintaining reproducible evidence of defects

Qualifications

• 4+ years of QA automation engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automated tests with Playwright.
• Strong coding ability in TypeScript/JavaScript; Git experience.
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance and work with government-compliant processes.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into testable outcomes with clear acceptance criteria.
• Own automated test coverage across browser, application, and backend boundaries.
• Develop a risk-based testing strategy prioritizing customer impact and roadmap.
• Test AI workflows including streaming responses, history, file handling, and tool execution.
• Evaluate AI output quality and maintain representative evaluation datasets.
