Job summary

Northern Base in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 8–14 years of experience to design and implement automated testing across web services. The role is onsite, full-time, and requires migration of Selenium scripts to Playwright, API testing, and building scalable automation frameworks.

You'll work with developers, product owners, and DevOps to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of experience in software testing, test automation, and QA engineering.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience migrating Selenium-based automation scripts to Playwright.
• API testing with Postman or Rest Assured.
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up.
• CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Defect tracking and test management using Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong Git experience and Unix/Linux environments.

Role: QA Automation Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Onsite)

Experience: 8 14 Years

Must-Have Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile testing methodologies, and QA best practices
• Hands-on experience with Playwright
• Strong experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
• Functional, regression, smoke, integration, system, and E2E automation
• Experience migrating Selenium-based automation scripts to Playwright
• API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up
• Automation framework design, test strategy, and test execution
• Basic to intermediate SQL for database validation and backend testing
• CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
• Defect tracking and test management using Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps
• Strong experience with Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos
• Unix/Linux environments and batch processing systems

• Experience with UAT, system, smoke, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Experience creating test execution reports, quality metrics, and stakeholder status updates
• Experience working closely with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience continuously improving QA processes and automation best practices

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
